Since its inception in 1989, Mass Exodus has served as a vital bridge between the innovation of Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) graduating class and the city’s professional fashion community, evolving into the largest student-run fashion event in Canada. The 2026 milestone, held on April 11, embraced the powerful theme "1 OF 1," a manifesto centered on autonomy and creative vision as an act of protest against traditional expectations and uniformity. This year was particularly special for introducing a new industry-specific showcase that featured curated highlights from over 75 student collections, specifically designed to connect Canada's emerging designers with high-profile VIP guests and media influencers. Captured here are some of the selected designs highlighting the incredible breadth of this year's student work, showcasing a unique blend of sustainability, decolonization, and avant-garde self-expression that defines the future of the Toronto fashion landscape.
